There is an asteroid headed towards Earth, but it will not cause any damage. The asteroid, named 2018VP1, was discovered in 2018. It has a projected 41% chance of entering Earth’s atmosphere on November 2nd, where it would then burn down into nothing. NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office posted the following tweet: “Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth! It currently has a 0.41 [percent] chance of entering our planet’s atmosphere, but if it did, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size.” So no matter what you are worried about in 2020, this asteroid is not one of them.
